Last night (March 28), the second-ever episode of the new UK version of the long-running US variety show aired on Sky and NOW TV.
Jamie Dornan appeared as host, using his monologue to share his real collection of rocks that resemble potatoes. The evening’s sketches satirised the former Prince Andrew and the ongoing US and Iran negotiations.
Later, Wolf Alice appeared to perform two tracks from their fourth studio album ‘The Clearing’, which was released last summer.
First up, they gave a rousing performance of ‘White Horses’, before a particularly haunting acoustic rendition of ‘Leaning Against the Wall’. Check them out below.
Last week saw US actor and comedian Tina Fey present the star-studded debut episode, with Wet Leg as the musical guest. There were also cameos from Graham Norton, Nicola Coughlan and Michael Cera during Fey’s opening monologue, where she received a crash course in British humour.
The episode also served as an introduction to the show’s cast, which includes Black Ops star Hammed Animashaun, Celeste Dring who appeared in This Country with Daisy May and Charlie Cooper, comedian Ania Magliano, who recently featured on Taskmaster, George Fouracres who appeared alongside Cillian Murphy in the Netflix film Steve, Big Boys star Jack Shep, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Emma Sidi and Paddy Young.
The show’s debut proved divisive with viewers, with reactions ranging from “brilliant” to “utter slop”.
Episode three (airing on April 4) is set to see actor Riz Ahmed (Bait, Hamlet) presenting, while Kasabian provide the live music.
Live from London at 10pm every Saturday night, each 75-minute episode will see a different host take to the stage alongside SNL UK’s inaugural cast.
In other news, Wolf Alice are set to play a huge outdoor show at London’s Finsbury Park this summer, where they will be joined by The Last Dinner Party, Lykke Li, Rachel Chinouriri, Keo, and Florence Road.
Other upcoming live dates include headline slots at Tramlines Festival, Kendal Calling and Eden Sessions, as well as appearances at TRNSMT, Mad Cool, NOS Alive and more.
‘The Clearing’ was given a glowing five-star review when it was released last year, and it went on to secure the Number 11 spot on NME‘s 50 best albums of 2025 list.
