1. Harry Styles: As it Was

Harry Styles’ As It Was is the biggest single of 2022 so far in the UK. The song racked up 16,103,849 streams in it’s first 24 hours on Spotify earning it a Guinness World Record as the most streamed track on Spotify in 24 hours (male).

The track stayed at the top of the UK Singles Chart for a total of 10 weeks, making it the longest-running Number 1 of the year so far.

As It Was is the lead track from Harry’s third solo album Harry’s House and has amassed 966,075,314 streams so far, whilst the album has received over 247 million streams. Harry himself has now surpassed 12 billion total streams on Spotify and is the only solo artist to have all his songs reach at least 100 million streams on Spotify.

2. Fireboy DML & Ed Sheeran: Peru

Peru by Fireboy DML & Ed Sheeran takes second place in the Official Top 40 Biggest Songs of 2022 so far. Currently sitting at 153,877,440 streams, the song missed out on reaching the Number 1 spot in the Singles Charts.

Fireboy DML has 9.4 million monthly listeners on Spotify, which is dwarfed by Sheeran’s staggering 80.5 million monthly listeners. Although Peru is Sheeran’s highest ranking song of 2022 so far, it is still a long way off his record breaking single Shape Of You which has accumulated over 3.1 billion streams.

3. Gaitan/Castillo/Adassa/Feliz: We Don’t Talk About Bruno

We Don’t Talk About Bruno takes up the number 3 spot. The Walt Disney’s soundtrack to the computer-animated musical feature film Encanto has received over 110 million streams. 

We Don’t Talk About Bruno has also become the most popular Disney song of all time, over taking Can You Feel The Love Tonight by Elton John from The Lion King released in 1994.

4. Ed Sheeran: Bad Habits

Although only in the fourth spot for biggest songs of 2022 so far, Sheeran’s hit Bad Habits has achieved over 1 billion streams on Spotify. Making it the singer’s 10th song to hit the impressive milestone of 1 billion streams. 

Sheeran also features at the number 6 spot with the single Shivers and number 22 with his collaboration with Camila Cabello, Bam Bam.

5. Lost Frequencies/ Calum Scott: Where Are You Now

Released in 2021, the dance hit received a massive uplift in streams at the beginning of 2022 placing it in the number 5 spot on the Official Top 40 Biggest Songs of 2022 so far. Where Are You Now has racked up over 601 million streams on Spotify. 

When first released, the hit topped the UK Dance Singles charts for 19 weeks, and 7 weeks in the German Dance Singles chart. Before returning to the top spot in February 2022 where it has remained for 15 weeks.
