It sounds like the apple doesn’t fall far from the musical tree in the Bieber household. In a new interview with Jake Shane on his Therapuss podcast, Hailey Bieber revealed that her 16-month-old son with Justin Bieber is already starting to take after the “Yukon” singer.
“Yeah he does. He’s been saying, ‘Baby, oh baby, oh baby oh.’ And I’m like ‘whoa that is so crazy,’” Hailey said about son Jack Blues Bieber’s seeming obsession with his dad’s earworm breakthrough 2010 single “Baby.”
Bieber said Jack is already talking, a lot, ticking off some of his favorite words, which include one of Justin’s favorite leisure activities — “he says ‘basketball’ all the time” — as well as “please,” which he knew how to say in sign langauge for a while before he could say it. Hailey said she loves being a mom, something she always knew she wanted, and when Shane wondered if the couple plan to have more kids, the answer was an unequivocal “yes.”
“I definitely want… I’m taking it one kid at a time,” said Hailey who spent a while bonding with Shane about their mutual obsession with the Claire Danes espionage series Homeland, which they binge together. “I definitely do want one more. I’m not in a rush, but I definitely want one more,” said Hailey. “Maybe I’ll have four more. Maybe I’ll have three. I don’t know, I really don’t know. I’m just taking it one day at a time.”
And while the public has not seen Jack’s face so far, Hailey showed Shane a picture of the toddler, noting that she recently got her son’s head shaved and he now looks “identical” to Justin. “Oh my God, I’m gonna be sick!” Shane howled when he saw the pic, dubbing the baby “adorable” and noting that he’s “the perfect mix of you guys.”
Hailey said she’s “more relaxed” about being a first-time mom than she expected, and you know she couldn’t help bragging about some of the cute things Jack does, like walking, running and kicking and throwing a soccer ball. “He’s into all of it,” she kvelled.
She also revealed which of her husband’s albums is her favorite, choosing JB’s 2013 R&B-tinged Journals compilation as her number one, followed by 2015’s Purpose, which featured such hits as “What Do You Mean?,” “Sorry” and “Love Yourself.” She also said she’s feeling the new albums from Kid LAROI, TEMS, Tame Impala and Olivia Dean, and, of course, she’s got Justin’s Swag album on repeat.
“It’s such a good listen to me top to bottom,” she said of JB’s 2025 album, which hit No. 2 on the Billboard 200 last summer. “Obviously maybe I’m a little biased, but like I think the sign of a great album is like when you’ve given it time and then you go back to listening to it and I just constantly keep going back to it.”
