The 2026 Premio Lo Nuestro awards ceremony is still hours away, but some winners were announced Thursday morning (Feb. 19) on social media. Among them are Bad Bunny, who won song of the year for “DtMF,” while Karol G won urban – female artist of the year.
Additionally, Alejandro Sanz and Shakira shared the award for pop – collaboration of the year for “Bésame,” and Becky G and Manuel Turizo got pop/urban collaboration of the year for “Que Haces.”
Thursday night’s show — to be broadcast live on Univision, UNIMÁS and Galavisión — promises colorful musical numbers from superstars including Marc Anthony, Romeo Santos, Prince Royce, Juanes, Thalia, Maria Becerra and Cristian Castro.
This year, Bad Bunny, Carín León, Myke Towers, and Rauw Alejandro lead nominations with 10 nods each, followed by Beéle, Fuerza Regida and Karol G, who have eight each. Xavi has seven nominations, while Alejandro Fernández, Elena Rose, J Balvin, Maluma, Morat and Shakira each received six.
Under the theme “Honrando lo que Somos” (Honoring Who We Are), the 38th annual gala “will honor pride in where we come from and the cultural force that unites generations, genres and borders, paying tribute to our roots, our essence and the cultural identity that defines us,” according to a press release.
Awards will be presented in 44 categories across genres such as pop, urban, tropical, and Mexican music. Additionally, five artists will be honored with special awards: Juanes will accept the Lifetime Achievement Award; Paloma San Basilio the Award for Excellence; Arcángel the Urban Icon Award; Los Bukis the Musical Legacy Award; and Manolo Díaz the Visionary Award.
This year’s nominations were based on airplay on Uforia stations and took into account airtime on Univision Radio, streaming data and evaluation by a Television Committee composed of music and entertainment industry experts. The eligibility period was from Sept. 30, 2024, through Oct. 1, 2025.
Cohosted by Thalia, Clarissa Molina and Nadia Ferreira, Premio Lo Nuestro 2026 will air live from Miami at 7 pm ET and will also be available for streaming on ViX across the U.S. and most Latin American countries.
