Sofia the First is getting the spin-off treatment, and with it comes a whole new world of music.
Disney announced Thursday (April 2) that the new show Sofia the First: Royal Magic, set in the world of the iconic original children’s series, will get an updated theme song. The new track is a take on the already beloved Sofia the First theme song, which has more than 100 million audio and video streams globally.

The original Sofia the First series ran from 2012 to 2018 and introduced the world to Disney’s first little-girl princess. During its four-season run, the show won three Daytime Emmys, including one for outstanding original song – main title and promo in 2014. The new spin-off follows the titular Sofia as she attends The Charmswell School for Royal Magic. While at school, Sofia discovers she is the most magical princess in the realm, learns how to master her powers, and makes a whole new slew of royal friends — including confirmed guest appearances from fellow Disney princesses Moana, Rapunzel, Jasmine, Cinderella, Aurora and Elena of Avalor.
Though Sofia the First: Royal Magic is not set to premiere until May 25, fans don’t have to wait that long to hear the new music: The Sofia the First: Royal Magic theme song can be previewed below and will be released digitally on Friday (April 3). The updated lyrics reflect Sofia’s new adventures, and a new driving beat brings the song into 2026.
Those who love the music of the Sofia the First universe will have even more to look forward to with the premiere of the new series. Disney also announced that the full Royal Magic soundtrack will come out the same week as the new show, on Friday, May 29.
Sofia the First: Royal Magic will premiere on Disney Jr. on May 25, with the first eight episodes available to stream on Disney+ the next day, May 26.
